The Question:I have a few questions about some supplements.
What do you think of Pro Performance 100% Whey
Protien? What are your thoughts about Tribulus?
Is it ok to mix creatine and glutamine with
protien drink?
The Answer:I can't find Pro Performance 100% Whey Protein anywhere. So I really can't comment on it's effectiveness. Tribulus, however, I have actually used and am familiar with. Tribulus enhances the production of your own testosterone levels. Most knowledgeable people I know who use Tribulus do so after 3-4 weeks of Zinc supplementation to aid in increasing the natural testosterone levels as well. I do not believe that Tribulus is a super effective product. I think it is average. If you have the money then I would say give it a shot. However, if your supplement budget is tight I would focus on a quality meal replacement powder, creatine and glutamine. The combination of these three products will take you a long way towards developing the size you want.
Finally, I have been asked a few times recently about taking creatine and glutamine together. People have heard that they both use the same transporter system so if you take them together they may somehow cancel each other out. I do not believe this is the case. I have spoken with some of the physiologists and biochemists here at the University of Arizona, one of which is a nationally ranked Olympic weight lifter, and none of them felt that taking the two together would create any sort of transporter overload. I have also been telling some of our members recently that if you are concerned it is not overly difficult to take them separately. For example, take the glutamine at breakfast and then right before your workout. Then, take the creatine with your lunch and then 1 hour after training. Of course, it will be a little more difficult if you are in an actual creating loading phase and you have to take the creatine 4-6 times per day. But, this loading phase is or should be fairly sporadic so I would simply stop taking the glutamine during the creatine loading phase then resume with the schedule I recommended above. Finally, taking creatine and glutamine with a protein drink is totally fine. |
